concessive
“To this end or to this purpose”-singular neuter
“Spirit”-singular masculine
“Prayer & supplication”-singular feminine
Kuya, I have a question about Ephesians 6:18, I searched for the phrase “to this end”, and I discovered that it means “to this purpose”...now,for me to be able to connect propositions, I tried to look-up for the greek of “purpose”, and it is “singular neuter”...so I have to find the word that has “singular neauter” in order to identify what the “purpose” refers to.. “Spirit”-singular masculine “Prayer & supplication”-singular feminine .. Now, I do not know which proposition to connect kuya. Can you help me? ..
Prayer is not another piece of armor but is the way believers appropriate God’s armor and stand firm
Mora syag concessive kay “in chains”...unsa ng “ that” sa 20b?

I like a lot of your relationship choices - very well done. Your Bilateral is clearly right, and your Concessive is arced carefully and correctly in verse 20.
Mildred Queenie CS
I’m happy that there is some progress in my analysis of the verse’s flow of thought kuya. Very big thank you to you kuya for helping.
Brent Karding
You're very welcome!
Brent Karding
that I may declare it boldly,
I don't think Ground is the best choice here. To paraphrase, I don't think Paul is saying, "Pray that I may be given words because I want to declare the gospel boldly." That's because his actual words are "that I may declare it boldly." So another Id-Exp would be better, or even Ac-Pur.
Mildred Queenie CS
Yes, this is tricky kuya.. I forgot that the mainpoint of v.20 is 20b, not 20a..haha..yes kuya, I will change it to Id-explanation..since 20b is already part of the content of 19b..
Brent Karding
To that end keep alert
I like your Ac-Pur in 18-20; it reflects our discussion about what "to that end" means.
Mildred Queenie CS
Yes kuya.. thank you for making me understand about “to this end”
Brent Karding
It would be better to connect 16-17 first, since 14-15 have three participles ("having..."), and 16-17 has two imperatives ("take up" and "take").
Mildred Queenie CS
Kuya, I have noticed that 16b is a participle kuya, that’s why I connected it with 14 & 15..I hope it’s okay kuya
Brent Karding
Ah, I see - you were looking at the Greek. That's fine!
Mildred Queenie CS
So I hope my arc in v.14-17 are right kuya.
Brent Karding
Your Series in 14b-16c is fine. I'm not sure about the Progression there - why did you divide 17a as the start of a second Progression, instead of keeping it Series? It could be right; I'm just wondering.
Brent Karding
Stand therefore,
The "therefore" here in 14a indicates an Inference. Perhaps all of 14-20 should be an Inference from 11-13.
Mildred Queenie CS
I agree kuya of the “therefore” in 14a..but I am confused kuya because the mainpoint of 14-20 is “stand” which is an imperative, and 11-13 has the mainpoint “put on and take up the whole armor of God” which is also an imperative..
Brent Karding
Yes, that's right - I hadn't noticed that. Looking at everything closely, I think that perhaps this is the best way after all, using an Id-Exp.
Mildred Queenie CS
Thank you for the confirmation kuya.
Brent Karding
that you may be able
It's not necessary to divide infinitives ("to withstand"); keeping "that you may be able to withstand" would be fine as a single proposition.
Mildred Queenie CS
Okay kuya..I will not divide infinitives next time..I have noticed that infinitives are clearly divided using Phrasing kuya, interesting.
Brent Karding
Yes, that's right. Phrasing divides all infinitives and prepositional phrases, which is quite different than Arcing.
Mildred Queenie CS
Yes kuya. I will bear that in mind.
