David preaches to his soul. It seems to him he is in great trouble. But, as if he were shaking himself out of a stupor, he wakes up to the realization that he is in covenant relationship with God. And he rejects what he feared would happen, and he holds to hope because of God. It makes me think how necessary it is to fight. In terms of struggles, I feel my life is so similar to David. Certainly I don't fight the same enemies, or in the same way. But the man struggled. His prayers are full of battle. So are my days.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David. How long, O LORD?
How long, O LORD?
Will You forget me forever?
Will you forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
How long must I take counsel in my soul
Having sorrow in my heart all the day?
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
Consider and answer me, O LORD my God;
Consider and answer me, O LORD my God;
Enlighten my eyes,
light up my eyes,
series
or I will sleep the sleep of death,
lest I sleep the sleep of death,
And my enemy will say, "I have overcome him,"
lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed over him,"
And my adversaries will rejoice
lest my foes rejoice
when I am shaken.
because I am shaken.

But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness;
But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

Because He has dealt bountifully with me.
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
