The witness of glorious suffering 28b really stood out as I did this arc. Paul calls the church in 27-28a to a particular lifestyle, one worthy of the gospel (standing firm, in one spirit, striving together, in no way alarmed). Then he says their conduct is a sign of destruction for their opposition. The holy life of the church is a sign of destruction for unbelievers. What does that mean? The only thought I have is that the holy, transformed life of believers is to shine so clearly before the world that they recognize God in us, in a way that leaves them feeling/recognizing they have fallen short of the glory of God. The believers witness through their lifestyle in a way that leaves unbelievers wondering why they can't pull off the beautiful life they see in people of faith. Then 29 gives the context for that lifestyle -- it is to occur when we are suffering. The beauty of our life is to shine particularly in pain. Questions: In vs. 29 I'm uncertain about the Csv relationship. I chose it because the one phrase supports the other, and because there is a contrast. But it really isn't an "although" statement, like most Csv. Yet I don't think it is an "A" because there is no alternative, and I don't think it is +/- because I don't think there are contrasting options. This needs more thought or help
