So , amidst these trying times of suffering, I exhort the elders among you ,
even as a fellow elder
and a witness of the sufferings of Christ,
series

Let me explain more fully my exhortation : shepherd the flock of God that is among you ,
The manner by which one shepherds the flock of God is : by exercising oversight,
the manner by which one exercises oversight is firstly: not under compulsion,
but willingly, as God would have you;
negativepositive
secondly : not for shameful gain,
but eagerly;
thirdly: not domineering over those in your charge,
but being examples to the flock.

And when the chief Shepherd appears,
as a result, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
