His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness,

διὰ τῆς ἐπιγνώσεως τοῦ καλέσαντος ἡμᾶς ἰδίᾳ δόξῃ καὶ ἀρετῇ,

through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
