Psalms 128:1-6
f Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord ,
The person who is truly happy is the one who trembles in awe of God,
who g walks in his ways!
and lives in a way that pleases him!
You h shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
As a result [of you being this person] , God will satisfy you and reward your hard work ;
you shall be blessed,
that is , you will experience much joy
and it shall be well with you.
and a peaceful life.
Your wife will be
This blessing will rain on you through your wife;
like i a fruitful vine within your house;
just like a bountiful harvest, her presence will be your family's sweet nourishment;
your children will be
and more of this blessing will come through your children,
like j olive shoots around your table.
who will be like a thriving plant nursery under your care.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord .
Look, this is the way a God-fearing person will be blessed.

Furthermore , I pray the following blessings for you : may the God of Jerusalem continue to bestow his favor on you,
May you see m the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life!
and may he cause you to witness Jerusalem's success throughout your lifetime,
May you see your n children’s children!
and may your lifetime extend to the days of enjoying your grandchildren,
o Peace be upon Israel !
and may God give rest to his people!

The author of this psalm is himself, through God's grace, a blessing to us. Verses 5 to 6 are not merely words; they are a real blessing to us since he is offering up a prayer to God for you and for me. Yes Psalmist, you go and pray all you want because I know God is hearing your prayer! You are writing Holy Spirit inspired, eternally-enduring, Christ-pointing Scripture for me, for the Jews and Gentiles who have been brought to their knees in great awe of the God of Zion!
