The author of this psalm is himself, through God's grace, a blessing to us. Verses 5 to 6 are not merely words; they are a real blessing to us since he is offering up a prayer to God for you and for me. Yes Psalmist, you go and pray all you want because I know God is hearing your prayer! You are writing Holy Spirit inspired, eternally-enduring, Christ-pointing Scripture for me, for the Jews and Gentiles who have been brought to their knees in great awe of the God of Zion!
