Notes
Audience: Wife Sarah - 7yo Hannah - 3yo Paul the apostles has revealed to us a very great mystery today in our text. This mystery should bring us great joy and then should lead us to praise and thank God all the more. Paul tells us that before, God only loved the Israel nation. Only them and not the people who are not Israel. Back in the old testament, it was always focused on God's people, that is Israel. Look at Eph. 2:12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. We were once separated from God with no hope. We were strangers. We could not enjoy God's promises. We had no God. But now, Paul brings us good news, God had revealed to him the mystery of Christ. What do you think can be this exciting? This mystery is that, now all gentiles who believe in Christ, not just the Israelites, like us, can now be part of God's people and can enjoy God's promises. We can now have fellowship with God, we can now pray to God. Now it's no more Israel and Gentiles, but just the church of Christ. God's only people. A people that love God. Now we are part of God's family, Members of the same body, sharing the promises of God, because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Questions: In the old testament, were the gentiles part of God's promises? What is the mystery that Paul has revealed? How did we become part of God's family? How does it make you feel to know that God has shown us love?
