I, Paul, pray that God would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the Knowing of Him so that you would attain that for which we are all hoping.

Arc 1:15-23
NT
Ephesians 1:15-23
This usage mirrors that expressed in Rom 8:11 where we are told to not give up our hope of the resurrection because the same power that raised Christ from the dead will raise us up, as well.
Since we have all become God's own possession, having trusted and obeyed the Word of Truth, the Gospel of our salvation.
having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints
I do not cease giving thanks for you while remembering you in my prayers
inference
My prayer being that God, the Father of Glory, who sent our Lord Jesus Christ, may give you all a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowing of Him
(since you have had the eyes of your hearts enlightened (when you believed)),
ground
in order that (by knowing Him in spirit) you may know (attain/experience)
1) what is the hope to which he has called you,
2) what are the riches of his glorious inheritance, that is the saints (glorified)
3) and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe
series
and all this according to the (supernatural) working of his great might
which he worked on Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenlies
far above all rule, authority, power and dominion, and above every name that has been named not only in this age but also in the age to come.
And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the Church
which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

You probably already stated that somewhere. sorry.

Are you thinking of the "since" in 18a as "causal" or "temporal"?
Randall Rains
I Arced it as Ground for 17. What I thought was that since the eyes of their hearts had been enlightened when they believed Paul could pray that God would give them a spirit of ... . So it's adverbial and referring back to v3-14 where Paul established that they were 'sealed by the Spirit.' I'm not sure that falls under causal or temporal.
Randall Rains
I just reviewed our previous thread and found the quote that debunked the idea of categorizing adverbial participles. He suggested 'circumstantial' as a good default. This was from the Intermediate Grammar.  David L. Mathewson and Elodie Ballantine Emig, Intermediate Greek Grammar: Syntax for Students of the New Testament (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Academic: A Division of Baker Publishing Group, 2019), 211.
