Personal Meditation
The one thing that shone through on this passage was Paul's (and the other apostles with him) love for the Thessalonians. When I read sections like this in Paul, I am massively provoked to love Jesus' Bride. We are brothers and sisters. It's easy to look out at the church and ask questions and almost become cynical because, you name it, we aren't doing something right. The issue is we don't usually say, "we". We will normally say, "they". Brothers and sisters, let us see the great love the apostle Paul had for these people. If you look at his grounding of why he wanted, with great eagerness, to see them, it is because they are his hope, joy, and crown of boasting at the day of the Lord Jesus. I can honestly say, this rocked my theology. Paul says that those who have been entrusted to him is what Jesus will look at when He returns and will base (at least part of) his rewards on. Do you realize the people God has entrusted you with in your family or local church? Let us not take this lightly. Second, Suffering. Here it is again in this beautiful letter. Paul shows us that we are to suffer for Jesus. It's profound that he says, "we were destined for this". Let us not forget, those of us in the western culture, that we were destined for suffering for Jesus. And let's be honest that most of us can't say with Paul, "that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead." Oh, that the Lord God would renew our minds by His Spirit to think these ways.

This ground is supporting and giving reason for why he desired to come to them so much. The Thessalonians are Paul's glory and joy at the coming of Jesus.

Ryan, I learn so much when stydying your published pages. Would you consider adding English text when you arc for those of us who don't know Greek? And how about adding brackets as  well? Asking too much?
Ryan Robinson
Yeah. I can do English. I meant to. Just forgot. :) Also, I'll do brackets if it will fit not he published page. Sometimes the space constraints affect things. I'm glad these help!
