Central Idea [Work out your salvation] by not grumbling, but rejoicing and so shine as stars in the spiritual darkness of this world. Questions Are 15b and 16a a part of being blameless and innocent or a second idea? Part of being blameless, etc I think, because of the connection between shining like stars (in the dark universe) and being in the midst of a generation that is not blameless, etc. What is with Paul's "boast" (ESV: "may be proud")?

Do all things without grumbling or questioning,
that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation,
among whom you shine as lights in the world,
holding fast to the word of life,

so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

I am glad and rejoice with you all.
