. In verse 7, Paul gives TWO grounds for the deep feelings of love he has for the Philippian church: 1. He holds them in his heart 2.They are partakers with him of grace -The evidence of Paul's love for his Philippian brothers and sisters is the prayer life that he describes. It is hard not to love people that you are constantly praying for. What can we glean from Paul's prayer on how we should pray for our brothers and sisters? or... What kind of prayer will create genuine love and joy in our relationships with others in the church? 1. Thank God for your brothers and sisters in the Lord this seems so obvious in verses 3 and 4 that it is easy to overlook. Paul was genuinely thankful for the believers in Philippi (even the ones who were causing strife in chapter 4). What a lesson. What a hard pill to swallow! a. be thankful for their partnership in the gospel. whatever else, we are in this together. 2. Allow your prayer life to overflow into a ministry of encouragement a. Paul says that he is sure that God is doing a good work and will complete it. When is the last time you told a brother or sister in Christ that? 3. Ask God to give you a love for your brothers and sisters that you can feel. Paul had two grounds in which he based this type of praying a. he allowed the Philippians to occupy his heart b. he understood that they were partakers with him in God's grace 4. Pray that God will give your brothers and sisters an abounding love

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,
always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
temporal

ground
And I am sure of this,
that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
ideaexplanation
It is right for me to feel this way about you all,
because I hold you in my heart,
for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.
For God is my witness,
how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.
And it is my prayer
that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,
so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
actionpurpose
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ,
