SERMON OUTLINE ETS: Paul endeavored to unite his fellow-workers. FCF: Sometimes we fail to endeavor to unite members who have differences. ESS: This passage reminds us to endeavor for the unity among the members. OSS: Endeavor to guard the unity among the members. PQ: What does this passage teach us to do when one sees lack of unity? TSMP+UW: Few ways that this passage reminds us of how to endeavor to solve the differences among our members. 1. Identify the members who cause hindrance for unity. 2. Ask them to be united in a humble manner. 3. Seek others' help if needed. 4. It doesn't matter what your situation is & where you are... MANUSCRIPT In this short passage we see that Apostle Paul does something important in trying to unite the members who have disagreements. This is one of the major concerns in churches. This has been a problem at all times plaguing churches across nations. We are very much aware of this kind of problem. We too are not exempted from it. Paul writes to the saints at Philippi concerning the differences that Euodia & Syntyche have & asks one of his fellow brothers to handle the issue that they two have. He wants everyone to be united. What we can infer from this short passage is about a person who endeavors to unite his fellow workers. We notice that some one who loves his fellow-workers will try with full efforts to unite. As we heard last Sunday about complacency, sometimes we don't bother much about it or think that it's not our job. Which is clear understanding that we have don't have genuine love concerning those members. How does Paul endeavor to sort out this issue? He sets us an example by doing so, manifesting the Christ who lives in him. 1. First he Identifies the members who cause hindrance for unity. 2. Asks them to be united in a humble manner. 3. Seeks others' help also. 4. It doesn't matter to him that he is afar & that too in a prison. Prayer to conclude.
