Appeal
Explaination
The metaphorical head is in reference to the "authority" (as opposed to "source").
The kephale (head) in v. 4-5 is debated as to authority and the literal head, referring to self. Perhaps it is both.
Glory and disgrace are paralleled. Thus it is likely that translate glory with honor (c.f. v.5).
Contention, probably about what Paul wants them to understand (v.3).
