So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said:
“Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen.
ALL of you who fear God
The God of this people Israel chose our fathers
God chose the patriarchs
and made the people great
God made the people great
during their stay in the land of Egypt,

After ....God destroyed 7 nations
he gave them their land as an inheritance.
God gave them the land

And when he had removed him,
After God removed Saul
he raised up David to be their king,
God raised up David as king
of whom he testified and said,
God testified about David
‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart,
I have found David to be a man after my own heart
who will do all my will.’
a man who wills to do my will.
ideaexplanation
Of this man’s offspring God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus,
God has brought a son of David to be Israel's Savior
as he promised.

Before his coming, John had proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
Before Jesus came, John had proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all Israel
And as John was finishing his course, he said,
And as he was finishing his ministry he asked,
‘What do you suppose that I am?
Who do you think that I am?
I am not he.
I am not the Messiah.
No, but behold, after me
But after me
one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
One is coming who is so worthy that I am not worthy to untie his sandals.

“Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the message of this salvation.
Jews and Gentiles alike, to us God has sent the Good News
For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath,
Although those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus nor see him as the fulfillment of the Messianic prophecies, despite the fact that they are read every Sabbath
fulfilled them by condemning him.
their condemnation of him fulfilled God's plan.
concessive
And though they found in him no guilt worthy of death,
Although they could find no legal reason to give him the death sentence,
they asked Pilate to have him executed.
they asked Pilate to have him killed anyway.
And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.
After they did what the prophets had said they would do, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb.
But God raised him from the dead,
But God raised him from the dead
and for many days he appeared to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.
and the proof of this miracle is that he actually appeared to his companions, who are now confirming the truth of his resurrection to the people.
ground
And we bring you the good news
And now we witness to you this good news
that what God promised to the fathers, this he has fulfilled to us their children
that God has fulfilled his promises of a Messiah to this generation
by raising Jesus,
by raising Jesus
actionmanner
as also it is written in the second Psalm, “‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you.’
We read about this also in Psalm 2: ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.’
And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption,
God raised Jesus from the dead, and he will never go back to the grave and become dust.
he has spoken in this way, “‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’
For God said: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings that I promised to David.’
Therefore he says also in another psalm, “‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’
And in another psalm God says: ‘You will not let your Holy One rot.’
For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption,
For David did God’s will during his lifetime. Then he died and was buried beside his ancestors, and his body did rot in the grave.
but he whom God raised up did not see corruption.
But Jesus, whom God raised from the dead did not rot in the grave.
Let it be known to you therefore, brothers,
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know
that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,
that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.
Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:
“‘Look, you scoffers, be astounded and perish; for I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”
