9 The true light, who gives light to everyone, 19 was coming into the world. 20 10 He was in the world, and the world was created 21 by him, but 22 the world did not recognize 23 him. 11 He came to what was his own, 24 but 25 his own people 26 did not receive him. 27 12 But to all who have received him - those who believe in his name 28 - he has given the right to become God’s children 13 - children not born 29 by human parents 30 or by human desire 31 or a husband’s 32 decision, 33 but by God.
notes
Main point summary
In contrast to those who rejected the Creator Himself: Jesus - one of their own when He came, those who received Him became God’s very own children through a birth that is of God, one that isn't based upon bloodline but is entirely dependent upon His will.
