Matthew 5:17-20 NET
Fulfillment of the Law and Prophets 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. 17 18 I 18 tell you the truth, 19 until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter 20 will pass from the law until everything takes place. 19 So anyone who breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others 21 to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever obeys them and teaches others to do so will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness goes beyond that of the experts in the law 22 and the Pharisees, 23 you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Main point summary
Because one's eternal destiny - admittance or rejection into God's Kingdom - depends upon the attainment of perfect, not outward, righteousness, the one therefore who keeps the Law (which will remain until all in it is accomplished) and teaches others to do likewise is called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. That is what Jesus exactly did - teach and fulfill the Law.
p “Do not think
that I have come to abolish q the Law or the Prophets;
nga umayko waswasen ti Linteg ni Moises ken dagiti pannursuro dagiti profeta.
I have not come to abolish them
Diak immay tapno waswasek dagitoy
but r to fulfill them.
no di ket tapno ibanagko ida.
For truly, I say to you,
s until heaven and earth pass away,
a bayat ti panagpaut ti langit ken daga,
not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law
dinto mapukaw ti uray maysa a tulnek wenno kabassitan a paset ti Linteg,
until all is accomplished.
agingga a matungpalda amin.
t Therefore whoever relaxes u one of the least of these commandments
Isut' gapuna a ti mangsalungasing iti kabassitan kadagiti bilbilin
and teaches others to do the same
ken mangisungsong kadagiti dadduma nga agsalungasing met,
will be called least v in the kingdom of heaven,
isunto ti kanumoan iti Pagarian ti Langit.
but whoever does them
Ngem ti siasinoman nga agtungpal iti Linteg
and teaches them
ken mangisuro pay kadagiti sabali tapno agtungpalda met,
will be called great v in the kingdom of heaven.
isunto ti natan-ok iti Pagarian ti Langit.
For I tell you,
Ngarud, ibagak kadakayo:
unless your righteousness exceeds w that of the scribes and Pharisees,
[20c+] makastrekkayto iti Pagarian ti Langit
you x will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
[20b] no napaspasnek ti panagtulnogyo iti pagayatan ti Dios ngem ti panagtungpal dagiti Fariseo ken dagiti mamaestro iti Linteg.”
