Why is visiting orphans and widows in their affliction and keeping oneself unstained from the world pure and un-defiled religion? It goes back to what Christ says in Luke when having a feast, invite those who can not pay you back. Visiting orphans and widows in their affliction shows that you have truly been transformed by God's word, like the verses before warn of hearers vs. doers. The ones who visit are not in it for their own glory or to get rich since widows and orphans are unable to pay back the one who visits them. How would not bridling your tongue deceive your heart? Not taming your tongue is like a window into your heart. If your speech is not transformed into speech that is not of the world, then your heart is not transformed, but is deceived and does not know what Christianity is.
