If you happen to look up the text of this song in the Hebrew Bible, you will notice that we have left out a letter פ between verses 8 and 9. This is not actually a word, but rather a scribal way of indicating the end of a major section. Likewise, a ס appearing after a verse indicates the end of a minor section.
